Red Bean Paste Tangyuan with Gold Leaf (Serves 4)
Red Bean Paste Tangyuan with Gold Leaf is a traditional dessert for the Lunar New Year. The tangyuan are made from glutinous rice flour and come in two flavours: peanut and sesame. The outer skin is soft and chewy, while the filling is smooth, sweet red bean paste that is rich yet not overly sweet. Delicate gold leaf adorns the tangyuan, symbolizing wealth, good fortune, and auspicious blessings.
Enjoyed during the joyful moments of New Year reunion, each bite carries sweetness and well wishes, representing a year of harmony, prosperity, and good fortune. It is an indispensable delicacy on the festive table.
