Unagi Kabayaki with sauce 120-130g by Nobu Sakaguchi (15 years at a Michelin star)
This is a premium grilled eel kabayaki, rich in umami and full of flavour. Each bite delivers a deep, savoury taste with a tender and juicy texture. Sakaguchi’s signature sweet and savoury sauce enhances the natural richness of the eel, making it a perfect match with freshly steamed rice. Thanks to a review of our supplier, the quality of the eel has been further improved. Enjoy this luxurious eel experience at home.
Thawing and Reheating
Frozen grilled eel is a delicate product, and its texture can vary depending on how it is thawed and reheated. By thawing slowly and reheating gently, the flesh remains tender and the natural umami of the eel can be fully enjoyed.
For thawing, keep the eel sealed in its pouch and place it in the refrigerator for approximately 6–12 hours. Rapid temperature changes may affect the texture of the skin, so microwave defrosting and room-temperature thawing are not recommended.
Recommended reheating methods:
Frying pan: Place the eel skin-side up, cover with a lid, and reheat gently over low heat to allow even warming.
Oven: Wrap loosely in foil and heat at approximately 150°C.
After reheating, please consume while hot and avoid leaving it to rest. The natural gelatin in the eel skin can firm up as it cools, which may affect the texture.
Please note: The soy sauce-based glaze may not be fully frozen due to its low freezing point; this does not affect product quality.
Rice is not included with this product.
