Saikaien Matcha 50g
Saikaien’s carefully selected matcha features vibrant deep green leaves and rich umami. Smooth on the palate, with subtle sweetness and a pleasant gentle bitterness lingering in the finish. Versatile for traditional preparation, lattes, sweets, and cooking. Made from the rare tea leaves of Sonogi, this high-quality matcha is full of flavour.
Sonogi tea, grown in Higashisonogi, Nagasaki, accounts for only 1% of Japan’s tea production. Blessed with warm climate and pure water, it is rich in umami, low in astringency, and elegantly flavoured. Highly rated in national competitions, a prized tea for connoisseurs.
How to enjoy:
Warm and wipe the tea bowl.
Use a chashaku (or teaspoon) to add about 2g matcha (2 servings).
Pour 60–70ml water at about 80°C.
Whisk with a chasen in an “M” motion using the wrist to create froth.
When fine froth forms, it’s ready.
Enjoy mellow umami and elegant aroma – a calming moment with Saikaien matcha.
